“Mother is the discoverer of Man’s secret after he has been stripped of his machines, his religions, his spiritualisms and his materialisms, his Western or Eastern ideologies — when he is himself, simply a heart beating and calling for the Earth-of-Truth, simply a body calling for the Truth of the body, like the seagull’s cry for space and high wind.

For Mother is a fairy tale in the cells of the body.

Tourism supports 1 in 10 jobs, outpacing global economy for 6th consecutive year, WTTC

Travel & Tourism generated 1 in 10 of the world’s jobs in 2016 as the sector grew by 3.3%, outpacing the global economy for the sixth year in a row, reads a new report by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

WTTC’s Economic Impact Report 2017, which is conducted in conjunction with Oxford Economics, researches the economic impact of Travel & Tourism impact on global level, for 25 regions, and 185 countries.

According to the research, Travel & Tourism grew by 3.3% in 2016, generating US$7.6 trillion worldwide, which is 10.2% of global GDP when the direct, indirect and induced impacts are taken into account. The sector supported a total of 292 million jobs in 2016, which is 1 in 10 of all jobs in the world

Additionally, global visitor exports, which is money spent by foreign visitors, accounted for 6.6% of total world exports, and almost 30% of total world services exports.

David Scowsill, President & CEO, WTTC, said: “This is the sixth year in a row that Travel & Tourism has outpaced the global economy, showing the sector’s resilience, and the eagerness of people to continue to travel and discover new places, despite economic and political challenges across the world.

The continuous growth of our sector underlines the significance of business and leisure travel in driving economic development and job creation throughout the world.”

Southeast Asia (8.3%) was the region with the fastest growing Travel & Tourism sector in 2016, driven by the expanding Chinese outbound market and the countries own growing markets. Latin America (0.2%) was the slowest growing region. Some countries performed well above the world average, but the Brazilian economy dragged down the whole region.

The other regions registered the following growth: South Asia (7.9%), North East Asia (4.6%), Oceania (4.4%), the Caribbean (3.2%), North America (3.1%), the Middle East (2.7%), Sub-Saharan Africa (2.4%) and Europe (1.6%).

Travel & Tourism is expected to grow by 3.8% in 2017, generating US$ 7.9 trillion. This growth is slower than previously forecast, as a result of a downgrade to the global economy and a dampening of consumer spending.

Over the next decade the sector is forecast to grow at an average of 3.9% per year. By 2027 it will generate more than 11% of the world’s GDP and employ a total of 380 million people. One quarter of all jobs created in the next decade will be supported by Travel & Tourism.

Scowsill continued “The future prospects for Travel & Tourism are good, but the sector continues to face challenges. The impact of terrorism and the rise of populism pose a severe risk to the ability of people to travel efficiently and securely. The sector itself needs urgently to address the impact of growth on destinations and its own contribution to climate change if it is to be sustainable in the long term. The UN’s 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development is a perfect opportunity to explore solutions together. We look forward to welcoming delegates at our upcoming Global Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, 26-27 April where these challenges will be addressed.”

About WTTC:

The World Travel & Tourism Council is the global authority on the economic and social contribution of Travel & Tourism. It promotes sustainable growth for the sector, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, to drive exports and to generate prosperity. Every year WTTC, together with Oxford Economics, produces its flagship Economic Impact Report, which looks at the socioeconomic benefits of Travel & Tourism on global, regional and country level. This year the report shows data on 25 regional groupings and 185 countries.

Travel & Tourism is a key driver for investment and economic growth globally. The sector contributes US$7.6 trillion or 10.2% of global GDP, once all direct, indirect and induced impacts are taken into account. The sector also accounts for 292 million jobs or one in ten of all jobs on the planet.

For over 25 years, WTTC has been the voice of this industry globally. Members are the Chairs, Presidents and Chief Executives of the world’s leading, private sector Travel & Tourism businesses, who bring specialist knowledge to guide government policy and decision-making, and raise awareness of the importance of the sector.

WTTC’s annual Global Summit brings together over 900 delegates to discuss the opportunities, challenges and issues facing the industry, while its Tourism for Tomorrow Awards recognise the industry’s power to be a positive force in sustainability. This year’s Summit will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, 26 – 27 April 2017.

  • Founded by Japanese Monk, Nichidatsu Fuji (1885-1985), the Nipponzan Monastery at the heart of Kolkata in Lake Place is an ideal place for meditation on the Lotus Sutra, which incidentally is the last teaching of Buddha’s life.
  • The ancient link b/w India and Japan was reinstated after Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to Japan in 1916; the Poet also met Sri Mirra Alfassa in Japan who would later join Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry.
  • Fuji was very much influenced by the writings of Nichiren and thought of travelling to India, the spiritual birthplace, to invigorate the teachings of Enlightenment. This was a difficult time here in Calcutta when the country was striving for freedom from the British Colonial Rule.
  • Fuji arrived in 1931 and walked the streets near lake place beating his drum and chanting ‘Namu Myoho Renge Kyo’.
  • He met Mahatma Gandhi in 1933 at Wardhah and shared his ideas of compassion and non-violence.
  • Industrialist and philanthropist, Sri Jugal Kishore Birla gave him land to build a monastery in 1935 which is now the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Monastery at 60/1, Kabi Bharati, Kolkata 700029

Therefore, no objects exist as objects, either as phenomena or in noumenon.

Don’t ‘Miss the Last Bus to Cross the Frontier’- Krishnaprem

Maa Durga Painting

OM MAA- Maa Durga Painting

In the early 1940s, Sri Krishnaprem engaged himself in an ecstatic kirtan that went on till midnight at the Himadri Publication Office at Ganesh Chandra Avenue. Of course, this was a divine event when Krishnaprem embraced Yogishwar Sri Kalipada Guha Roy …they greeted each other and the music went on for hours…Sri Krishnaprem who was a great friend of Sri Dilip Kumar Roy always quoted Tennyson’s words “An infant crying in the night/An infant crying for the light/With no language but a cry” to elucidate the simple unconditional intensity of aspiration or ‘guru-bhakti’ which is there in a latent form in everyone. Krishnaprem was also connected with Sri Ramana Maharshi and with Sri Aurobindo via correspondence with Dilip Kumar Roy. Yogishwar, Kali Da , who was also friend of Kazi Nazrul Islam, would later predict the exact day of Sri Aurobindo’s physical departure and reveal it to Dilip Kumar Roy, and, when asked he simply replied that it was an act of inspired moment. He was also subtly connected with Sri Ramana Maharshi and with all great yogis including Sri Ramthakur, Yutsung Lama, Sri Bholagiri Maharaj, Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Thakur etc.  He had only one message “The Only Precondition to Understand the Master Magician is Absolute Surrender”.  Why did Kali Da used to go out in the night in central Calcutta, in places like Curzon Park, Victoria Memorial North Gate, Esplanade, Maidan, dockyard etc.? Whom did he meet? Who was ‘Bandhu’ and ‘Professor’ who used to come to meet him in these strange places? What did they talk about? What is the connection of such numerous meetings with Paramhamsa Yogananda, Sri Yukteshwar Giri, Lahiri Mahasaya? What did they discuss? Did Kali da talk about Maha-Avatar Babaji Maharaj as the Brahman, the Self or ‘Bandhu’? Who was ‘Professor’? Was he a technical person? Did he have the knowledge/information about the structure of the cosmos? Was he the Manifested Brahman in charge of physical operations? Did all these things have any connection with Sri Caitanya Maha-Prabhu and later with Prabhu Jagat Bandhu Sundor? Why did Kali Da go to Manas Sarovar and Tibet? Who were the Tibetan Master yogis he met? Why did Netaji or Sri Subhas Chandra Bose meet Sri Prabhu Jagat Bandhu Sundor in Bangladesh, why was Mahatma Gandhi accompanying him? Who is coordinating all these events? Did Prabhu go to Paris? Who helped Netaji to come out of Siberia? What is his connection with Maha-Avatar Babaji Maharaj? Who is Sri Badal Chatterjee and what was he doing in Chandannagore the place from where Sri Aurobindo went to Pondicherry? He said he attained 12 years nirvikalpa samadhi under instruction of Maha-Avatar Babaji Maharaj and later entered Bengal taking the guise of Babaji Maharaj. DID SRI RAMAKRISHNA REINCARNATE…AS THE PAGLA BABA IN CHANDANNAGORE? What is Christ doing in Shambhala/Gyan-Ganj? Why did Sri Gopinath Kaviraj used to visit Kali da’s house in Varanasi? Why did Bupendranath Sanyal who was born in Nadia in 1877 and initiated later by Sri Lahiri Mahasaya, went on to work in his later life with Rabindranath Tagore in Santiniketan in 1903? This was before the great poet received the noble prize in 1913? What is the connection b/w Romain Rolland, Tagore and Einstein? Did Werner Heisenberg visit Tagore in Sanitiniketan after he had written the Uncertainty Principle and went to Dakshineswar as well?  These are few connective questions which has hyperlink with the entire system c-creation-c to m-creation-m? The coming future events are already decided in those years with very minute observations –humanity has to proceed towards Truth Consciousness…Tilopa knew this described in his 6 adepts, Yogananda and Sri Kalipada Guharoy knew all these, he even directed his friends to visit the temple of Kanak Durga in Gidni where the image on the horse anticipates the Call to get the Key, simply Call-Key!

In a thousand mile of arid land the eye of the man and the lion on a boat

Seven headed Jagganath on the turmeric sea of white sands

Seven close to eight on nine to ten then zero again without the one

To open the unlocked doors of the hidden kingdom of immortals

A spade of blue turquoise running across the caves of time

A lost chapter in the creational book was reading itself through the magnified meca vision

Some grow old as young others look at the sky in disbelief

Some saw the golden flakes burning like a vast ship in the everlasting space of infinity

Turbulence was not an offence but an offering to cleanse the soul

Gods look to gods to purge themselves and man looks towards the sea

The fruit was bearing the hibiscus adder in the poison of death

Its sting was the injected needle that etherised the mountains and the deserts

Atacama folded in the Taklamakan Gobi and stretched into the sub-Saharan terrain

Inside the reptilian bond the stars of the Erasmus faded into the sunshine of xyro-sun

Christ was annihilated on bed of the rocks to bear the language of the river-songs

Words walking into words as tau on lepton and gluon

Tara tera tara xivo-xivo utrath mekav ryto blomin

In the streets of Shigatse there are no gods

Not even the signs that dangle the desire of man

I saw many earths as poets dreaming like him to express the fountain of a superluminal desire
