The Great ‘Pause’ and ‘Liberation’: Mircea Eliade’s The Myth of Eternal Return

Padmasambhava Cave, Ravangla Sarchog Bayphug the Cave of the East

“There is neither creation nor destruction,

Neither destiny nor free will,

Neither path nor achievement;

This is the final truth. – Sri Ramana Maharshi

“What is the Buddhamind?”

“It is your (only) mind. When you apperceive it subjectively it can be called Suchness. When you apperceive its immutability it can be called Dharmakaya. It is not any thing, so it may be called Liberation. Its functioning is imperceptible, undistrubed by any object, so it may be called pure TAO. Never born, it can never die, so it may be equated with Nirvana.” – Bodhidharma

“An individual, one with cosmic self

Rinchenpong Monastery

In the heart of the Transcendent’s miracle

And the secret of World-personality

Was the creator and the lord of all.

Mind was a single innumerable look

Upon himself and all that he became.

Life was his drama and the Vast a stage,

The universe was his body, God its soul.

All was one single immense reality,

All its innumerable phenomenon”.

– Sri Aurobindo, Savitri

Jesus and the Children

THE CHILD IN YOUR ARMS

Where does he come from?

Does he belong to your heart’s throbbing motion

that resounds with the ebb and flow of the universe?

Does he mirror in your mind the rustling in the trees, the soft

lullaby of birds in the wake of the passing clouds?

Does he kindle the fire in the lost horizon?

Or, the stone that shines his face in the vermilion sun?

Sandhar taposhe samayer hriday anando pather ek antim pathik,

Tar sure ekak chander gunjan alokanandar madhumay srinjan…

Kepe uthe pakhir dana, samudrer kurma tat ar himadrir sital pati…

Kar ashrito hridaye beje uthe shankhya dhwani, mridanger tan?

Kon pushpito ashru jare marubhumir prantare?

Rajanir rachanay nadir buk chire badonar naibadya gagane gagane abhra jyotirmoy shikha

….kalantare suryera pan kare madhu

Who is the child in your arms?

Is he the sonorous beauty in a lap of grass,

dewy flakes on a lotus bud, nestling or resting?

Does he have home of his own, a playground,

a place in the hills, where the murmuring streams flow,

beside wild berries, cedar and pine?

Desert sands, fig and palm leaves are scattered everywhere

The smoke is the dust at the feet of these enormous columns

The river sways, and unknown are it’s ways

The tossed up waves remain anonymous and same

These are formations in the mind, only, apparently real;

They come and go leaving stillness behind

When all seeking is meaningless then the seeker is the sought,

There is nothing else,

By non-doing there is peace in the universe

Heaven and Earth conjoined float in bliss

The universe gazes and gazes at itself

At the very heart of things, existence is blissful forever

When there is Prajna and Dhyana always in unison

then the child is truly born from Light

This is birth by Immaculate Conception (Sri Ramakrishna, Jesus, Prabhu Jagatbandhu Sundar)

Though he seeks darkness but he finds none

since when he shines there is complete obliteration of darkness and avidya

The child in your arms is your own manifestation only in a different formation

which too will cease to exist

Then all is pervasively still – knowing by not knowing…

PRESS INFORMATION:

The New York Film Academy (NYFA) proudly introduces its newest location in Mumbai, India, which welcomed its first students this month. Mumbai is located in the heart of the world’s largest film industry and is the home of Bollywood.

NYFA

MYFA Mumbai workshops are held at the Urmi Estate (95 Ganpatrao Kadam Marg, Lower Parel [West] Mumbai, Maharashtra 400 013, India). The Urmi Estate is a modern 41 story skyscraper located in the heart of the city.

“The New York Film Academy turns 25 this year, and we’re thrilled to add this beautiful new location in Mumbai to the global NYFA family,” said Kitty Koo, NYFA Vice President – Mumbai, India. “There is no place better than Mumbai, India, the land of Bollywood.”

As is the case with all of NYFA’s locations and workshops, the Mumbai filmmaking workshops focus on learning in a hands-on film environment where students have the opportunity to make a fully-realized final film.

The acting for film workshops provide students with a strong foundation of acting skills with a specific focus on the basic elements of the craft of acting, using Stanislavski’s System, scene study, and monologue work as starting points. Students also participate in courses aimed specifically at training the actor for the technical requirements of acting on a film set.

“We’re proud to bring our innovative film and acting for film programs to Mumbai, India, an epicenter for world cinema,” added NYFA President Michael Young. “We look forward to teaching a whole new generation of Indian filmmakers and actors.”

As those who have taken a workshop with NYFA know, the workload is considered intensive, meaning students must be prepared to live and breathe the program during their enrollment.

“Taking that experience from NYFA, I was able to act as a major supporting role in ‘Baahubali’,” said NYFA alumnus Rakesh Varre, who plays Setu Patti in “Baahubali: The Conclusion.” The film has become the highest grossest Indian film in history, and has even been impressive in the North American market.

PRACTICING ‘MINDFULNESS’ in HEALTHCARE SERVICES: ‘Empty Cognizance’ in Non-Dual Space springs forth Compassion/Karuna for All Sentient Beings

Tashiding Monastery Sikkim

Tashiding Monastery, The Most Sacred Monastery in Sikkim

‘Tashiding Monastery’ or “The Devoted Central Glory” in Sikkim is considered as the most sacred and holiest monastery in Sikkim; belonging to the Nyingma Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, it was built in the year 1717 by revered lama Ngadak Sempa Chempo Phunshok Rigzing. He was one of the three wise men who held the consecration ceremony crowning the first king of Sikkim at Yuksom. Guru Padmasambhava selected the place as he did sadhana in Tashiding in the 8th century and there are many caves which have the energy vibration of his practice in and around Tashiding, located above a hilltop at the site of the confluence of two rivers, Ranjit and Rathang Chu.

Adorns the waters of all heavens

Blessing earth and its people

To be healthy and wise

to generate all actions from the mindful heart

Beholding karuna for all sentient beings

In the sunlit space of Rigpa

There where clouds dissipate

Leaving no trace of thoughts and illness

Opening inside where stillness pervades

A quiet undertaking of the practice

Summons all the attendant deities and the rainbow lords

To experience the enlightenment ecstasy

of ‘Empty Congizance”

In the ‘Book of Chao’, Seng-Chao discussed that ‘Prajna’ is a kind of ignorance as well because the Ultimate Reality has no qualities and is not a thing, it cannot become an object of knowledge. But, here, we have to understand that the word ignorance refers not to mundane stupidity or callousness but to a higher truth that is encapsulated in primordial purity of our mind. Therefore, it becomes obvious that this is Mindfulness as it is the ‘Direct Insight’ that knows the truth by not knowing. This is also the historical link between TAOISM and the ZEN. In this way we can better appreciate the Spontaneous Perfection of Rigpa in Dzochen Teachings. Truly to know is not to know, that the awakened mind responds immediately, without calculation, and that there is no incompatibility between Buddhahood and the everyday life of the world.

Compassion or ‘loving kindness’ when associated with ‘prajna’ or wisdom which is our essential nature is the key realization experience that gives stability to our being (existence). This when reaches a completion stage by practice of daily ‘mindfulness’ is a valuable asset that can help us improve our HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE 21st CENTURY. It’s not only modern technology and facilities, but also, skillful ways of practising compassion for the health and well-being of all individuals.

John Hopkins Medicine

25th July 2016, Mobile Health and Wellness Clinic Debuts in Pune for Clinical Research and Community-Based Care
–Project provides a model for innovative health research, care and wellness

The Maryland-based health care informatics company CTIS and its founders, Raj and Bharti Shah, have collaborated with the Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical Global Health Education and Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College to equip and dispatch a custom-designed mobile health care services van in the state of Maharashtra in India.

The mobile clinic, the parties say, is designed to address the fact that India assumes a large burden of chronic and infectious diseases, leading the world in deaths related to tuberculosis, cervical cancer and diabetes, and ranking third in the number of people with HIV. While there has been progress in improving India’s clinical infrastructure in the last few decades, they say, the severity of disease and the sheer numbers of patients affected present challenges to addressing health care needs in underserved communities, underscoring the need for innovative approaches, such as mobile clinical care, that augment traditional service delivery models.

Equipped with a $100,000 donation from CTIS and the Shahs, the mobile clinic features advanced laboratory equipment for disease diagnoses, including a GeneXpert rapid TB diagnostic system. The van includes other modern care and treatment capabilities, including mobile radiology equipment.

While mobile clinics sponsored by corporate hospitals and charity organizations have been deployed in Maharashtra primarily to provide health care in rural areas, the group behind this effort say it is novel, in that it will strategically enhance community outreach for tuberculosis screening, research and care, and provide wellness services. Maharashtra is among India’s top regions for cases of drug-sensitive and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, and the service area for the clinic comprises a population of 7 million people, including the city of Pune and surrounding villages.

“A mobile clinic provides a private and confidential environment for community-based health care and research,” says Ajay Chandanwale, dean of Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical Global Health Education and Raj and Bharti Shah, and appreciate the generous donation of the mobile clinic.”

Children, adolescents and adults, including pregnant and post-partum women, will be served. The mobile clinic’s capabilities will augment ongoing tuberculosis research, including monitoring households with people who have patients with TB and multidrug-resistant TB. While such research is critical for informing tuberculosis control strategies and science at the national level, the mobile clinic will also be used for targeted, community-based health and wellness programs that promote healthful living, Chandanwale says.

“We are highly committed to affecting broad changes in India’s ability to address serious health issues while simultaneously providing wellness programs that serve communities,” says CTIS CEO Raj Shah. “CTIS is pleased to provide a tool that can be used to deliver preventive services, health screening and care where they are needed.”

Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical Global Health Education Director Robert Bollinger, M.D., M.P.H., says the support from the Shahs will lead to improvements in health and wellness in Maharashtra, as well as provide a model for innovative health research, care and wellness for the rest of India. “The Shah mobile clinic really extends the reach of health services for communities and patients with limited resources, and it will be a tremendous asset to the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College-Johns Hopkins University research partnership.”

MEDITATION ON ART AS AN ARRANGEMENT OF REALIZATION IN TIME: TRACING THE LIGHT AS PERCEIVED BY THE OBSERVER

MEDITATION ON ART AS AN ARRANGEMENT OF REALIZATION IN TIME: TRACING THE LIGHT AS PERCEIVED BY THE OBSERVER

Mahadevi Art from Bikaner Rajasthan circa 1600-1800 courtesy The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Mahadevi Art from Bikaner Rajasthan circa 1600-1800 courtesy The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Art is an arrangement of realization in time

Time is therefore a phenomena allowing perceptual cognition

Subjective ideation is a functional variable of time having a fixed component- the real and the other imaginary (unfixed)

Imaginary component is a dream analogue to other alternate versions of reality

Reality is a differentiated undifferentiated perpetual bubble composed of many frequencies

The imaginary time (Ti) creates loops spinning back to eternity

There the logocentric mind is defined as the Supreme Para-Brahman

This is the point from which the external reality of the manifestation starts as expansion of space (Akasha)

And at this point the internal reality of the supra-unmanifest opens into higher non-dual realms

Each co-existing fundamentally within each other with degree zero separation

Therefore the art and the artist are not separate but one unique dynamic energy experience in consciousness

This inseparability is experienced as the flux, a movement

Stillness acquires the perfection of a million bodies when it moves without moving

Let there be peace in our thoughts

‘When the full heart of Love is tranquilized by knowledge into a calm ecstasy and vibrates with strength, when the strong hands of Power labour for the world in a radiant fullness of joy and light, when the luminous brain of knowledge accepts and transforms the heart’s obscure inspirations and lends itself to the workings of the high-seated Will, when all these gods are founded together on a soul of sacrifice that lives in unity with all the world and accepts all things to transmute them, then is the condition of man’s integral self-transcendence. This and not a haughty, strong and brilliant egoistic self-culture enthroning itself upon an enslaved humanity is the divine way of supermanhood’ – Sri Aurobindo

Revelation of the Floating Multiverse and the Sutra of Emptiness from the Absolute: Bliss as the Soul Cause of Existence

Eight Daoist Immortals ArtistTani Buncho

Eight Daoist Immortals ArtistTani Buncho

“Look Within!

The Secret is Inside You” – Hui-Neng – One of the Six Patriarchs

Reality in a Trance Like State: When the peach blossoms, the sun falls; the moon’s lotus leaves touch the air. The great daoist way is to not attain anything or something or everything or a part of the thing which is ‘that’ or ‘it’ or the I as me the Self. This process of continuity is based on quintessence. It’s a dynamic movement like music where each state identifies itself with other states their difference is the unity, their law, the non-law, their assonance is their dissonance. Pure material essence or everything else is a self-expression of the Dao. When the flower speaks and the sound clatters and the mind oxidised into rust then that way is the Dao…the Fall, the Rise, the Circumvention all are Dao.

The wooden chair was once the tree will become ash one day – each state carries the essence in concealed form called the ‘ananda; the ash too will mix will soil and become the fertile ground for the growth of another tree of the same or different kind – there is a circularity in the process and this kind of information inflow is always reversible and quantum in nature.

Dao is an effortless practical way of waking up and going to sleep and by repeating this it transcends the practicality of existential life and, therefore, frees itself from everything there is or will be.

There is a smoothness in the creation – that is Dao

Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna

There is a roughness in the creation – that too is Dao

Imperfection-perfection all are Dao

What is inevitable is the Dao – it’s the course to that Inevitability
innumerable buddhas fuse into One

Nothing is done

And everything made and become possible

Little bird hops

Leaves are singing

A tiny drop wakes when falls

That is the true state – the state of boundless self-awakening…

Everything happen that way or this way – it’s the Dao

The force that nurtures contains in it the pure essence of existence

Bliss is the primal cause for Sat to create the Chit to weave a condition to self-create things

Mountains on my hand

Becomes rivers and seas

All are washed away

And dried

Under the sun and the moon               Sri Krishna Revealing the Universe in His Mouth

The great stars fade and dim

Return like the biker around that arc

The wind pedals gracefully

And in my mouth

The Lost Art of Teaching: Thought’s Calligraphy on the Viviparous Sun Directs Non-Time Melodies

All time is eternal – time is information contained in a system

Non-time is solution of system-paradoxes from granular opaque quadrangular to transparent rotating icosahedrons

What we share we know we live for each other? The planet breathes on its own…

Leaves appear 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8…

A part of the whole

And end up on the other side of non-time

Journey is a process called transformation

Matter evolves from third state to fifth, eighth, eleventh endlessly

What does matter know about itself?

It’s an involuted pattern of existence that changes with rapid expansion accepting the Tao

Matter is yatter-processed memory of qubits in the field of interactions

What is the purpose of these interactions?

Why do you exist in this exchange?

To nullify your existence –to dissolute

Or to walk in the void rising from the sea like a dragon of light engulfing the whole truth of this creation?

Again, my Son, what is the purpose?

Sri Ramana Maharshi and Krishnaprem

Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Krishnaprem

The truth is in your consciousness

A beautiful dance plucked the strings of a sitar

A movement was observed

A melody line established

All without any hidden agenda

There is NO AGENDA in the Book of the Mother

There flowers blossom offering them to the Soul’s Constitution

And the bees hum the caterpillar smoothes the underside of a leaf

Till it feels the vibration in its body

Its yidam is the sun-vast conscience in the lunar petals

That pours fragrance as colours into the dewy chalice

Void is filled at last with great light

The Imago feels a vibration of strings

Reciprocate proteins with the non-local field

Soon butterflies will be born in the wilderness

What’s the purpose of all these, my Son?

There are mud walls in the sky everywhere

Each quarter so isotropic

Smeared with stars on the body of a coelacanth

Floating on the edge of a bubble packed with energy unknown to time

And time is liquid gravity

Matter revolts on its own against its law to find its higher self

All defined by NO Agenda

It’s lovely if you think; stillness mirrors time’s memory

Perfection allows the only hope of non-time

A promise not forsaken

A silence not abandoned

Too great a victory that cannot be put in words

Only thoughts exist…

Separation withered distance between them

Peter Paul Rubens’ Celestial Light of the Origin in his paintings and the Transformation of Matter by White Light Synthesis (Jim Morrison & Jerry Garcia as apostles to Dionysian and Apollonian Forces in the Landscape)

Landscape with a Watering Place, Peter Paul Rubens, Louvre, Paris, France

Peter Paul Rubens’ Celestial Light of the Origin in his paintings and the Transformation of Matter by White Light Synthesis (Jim Morrison & Jerry Garcia as apostles to Dionysian and Apollonian Forces in the Landscape)

The painting here summarizes the glow of the celestial light of the origin if we think ‘dark matter’ is the source of everything in this creation. The yin-yang in the painting is the subtle interplay of the senses between auditory and ocular mediums creating a kinaesthetic effect that transforms time into an ‘ever present paradox of the moment’- the ZEN of immutable delight or ‘ananda’ in the temporal process of existence. Here the god is not so much the object outside in the phenomenal world, but in ‘man as reality’ of a benevolent shepherd, who takes care of the flock and the community, as the ‘para-prakiti’ finds the magnet in him as in herself. This ontological classification of man within the hierarchy of God the Father acts as a kind of memory-painting intertext  of an ecologically conscious artist who knows his ‘being’, lives in that ‘idyll’ of supreme intelligence in the Brahman, and finds his inspiration from the Shakti/Nature.

Though Rubens’ landscapes are about the expressions of light (internal, external), there is also a finer judgement in his works that pastoral settings are not only about the exuberance of life, but integral nature of it also presupposes a degree of sadness in it because, ‘life-death’ are continually harnessed in our biological self, in the cells and in the cosmic order of things.

The deeper monotone of emotional suffering is a Dionysian force (that finds joy in death and negation) operative in nature that unveils the secret of ‘mind’ in matter for the process of integral synthesis and transformation.

Jim Morrison experienced similar forces when he wrote: “moment of inner freedom/when the mind is opened and the/infinite universe revealed/& the soul is left to wander/dazed & confus’d searching/here & there for teachers & friends”. It’s the same ‘quantum multiverse’ that’s opening to him as in the painting, ‘exaltation’ often bearing a touch of loneliness as it grapples with infusion of time with the solar plexus of eternity.

The quanta of qualitative judgement is not the focus of the artist or the poet/singer but the experiential qubit is the only statistical proof of his ‘faith’ in ‘nature and in ‘him’, as the source of the carrier-particle is often hidden in the square-root of its quantum-multiverse. The trees and houses in the background are brimming with Apollonian grace – a conjunction of light and matter, as one sets the law to sustain the harmony of the other (theory of sustainability and order) in itself, and by it, as a rare proof that both forces can simultaneously exist to bring equitable distribution of the quality of light intensity in the mind (internalisation process as para-truth verification) as consciousness in matter.

Jerry Garcia who gave music to Robert Hunter’s words in the Grateful Dead song The Eyes of the World, can be seen as a ballad that connects with the Apollonian force present in the painting.

“Wake up to find out

That you are the eyes of the World

But the heart has its beaches

Its homeland and thoughts of its own

Wake now, discover that you

Are the song that the morning brings

But the heart has its seasons

Its evenings and songs of its own”.

The song that morning brings is a template of the artistic source within, the Tao of life  is a higher integrated substrate of the cosmic synthesis of light in matter to activate consciousness in its time.
